Linking data products: SEC and Compustat
Use the CIK-GVKEY Link Table
The following web query provides the link between a company's CIK and GVKEY. The CIK comes from any of the company's SEC filings. For the GVKEY, we provide four different sources: (1) the Compustat company table; (2) the Compustat security table, where we use the CUSIP from this table to link to the CUSIP from a company's Schedule 13D/G filings; (3) Capital IQ; and (4) CRSP/Compustat Merged.
