Platform News: June–December 2025

We’re always working to enhance the WRDS platform, ensuring a seamless experience for our users. Here’s a summary of the updates and improvements made in second half of 2025 across our teams.

Platform

  • Ask AI Search Now Available to All – Beta AI-powered site search is now live for all subscribers. Share your feedback to help us refine results.
  • Ask AI v0.3 Introduces Conversational Refinement – Users can now engage in back-and-forth dialogue with the LLM to fine-tune results and get more specific answers.
  • Open Company Search Results in Jupyter – New option added to selected company search results for opening directly in a Jupyter notebook.
  • Dynamic Query Forms Enhanced with Autocomplete – Users can now search by name or ticker when using dynamic query forms.
  • Improved Data Preview Filtering – Tables with ≤10 million records now support filtering and sorting by any column in the data preview.
  • Variable Search Linked to Query Forms – Search results now include direct links to associated dynamic query forms.
  • Query Form Bug Fix for Decimal Filters – Issue with submitting queries using decimal values in conditional filters has been resolved.
  • Stata on WRDS Cloud Now Uses JDBC and Ident Auth – Improved connection security and performance with updated Stata profile.

Data

  • BankFocus Updated to Orbis (V4) Format – Data now aligned with Moody’s Orbis structure for improved consistency.
  • New Candid Non-Profit Data Available – Explore nonprofit sector insights through our new Candid dataset. Learn more
  • CSMAR and Orbis Datasets Updated – Now includes the most recent 2024 data.
  • RepRisk Feed Enhanced – 2024 update adds v2_rating table and six new ESG topic tags, with revised issue classification.
  • Revelio Layoffs and COSMOS Job Postings Added – COSMOS consolidates and deduplicates job data; older Revelio job feeds deprecated.
  • Revelio’s New Job Taxonomy Launched – The latest taxonomy is now live. See the announcement on the Revelio query page for full details.
  • Infraclear Infrastructure Database Added – Gain new insights with the addition of infrastructure project data from Infraclear.
  • Markit Rebranded to S&P – Web queries are now under the Compustat - Capital IQ page; “Markit” branding removed.
  • WRDS SEC Bag of Words Merged into Sentiment Analysis – All tables and queries consolidated under the WRDS SEC Sentiment Analysis product.
  • HFR Variable Updates – Around 30 variables renamed, added, or removed. See updated documentation for full list.
  • FactSet Legacy Queries Retired – Legacy web queries and data files are now discontinued.
  • FactSet Ownership Expanded with Historical 13F Holdings – Historical institutional ownership data now available.
  • RavenPack RPNA 4.0 Queries Retired – Web queries for this version are no longer supported.
  • AHA Now Includes Hospital Changes – AHA now includes Summary of Changes: Hospital Mergers and Acquisitions, covering 1980 through the most recent survey year.
